ARE YOU CONSIDERING A 2-YEAR DENTAL ASSISTING PROGRAM?
Maybe you are thinking about or have made a choice to enter the dentistry field; however, now you have to choose the best route for reaching your goals. There are plenty of options, but if you are like most people, you want your education to be the most efficient, effective, and affordable route. Many people want to start their new career as soon as possible – so, you have some decisions to make. Do you choose a 2-year dental assisting school, or consider a hands-on direct program that leads you to the same outcome in a shorter amount of time? Effective, hands-on dental assistant training doesn’t have to take two years. There are shorter programs that provide you with all the skills and credentials to start your career in 3 short months! Dental Office Training by Lynn has operated out of Fishers Indiana for the last 13 years and has graduated hundreds of dental assistants into the workforce!
(DOT) DENTAL OFFICE TRAINING BY LYNN’S QUALIFICATIONS
Our office has over 100 years of dental experience between staff members and our desire is to give back to the dental community by providing highly skilled cross-trained dental assisting in dental practices. Because of our small class size, we personalize your training by giving you all the hands-on instruction to perfect your skills before entering into the dental workforce. Hundreds of dentists in Indiana and surrounding states help us succeed by showing support in so many ways such as providing observation days in actual dental offices – this is included in every session! We have built a reputation that sets the standard higher in the dental community. We continue to work to achieve excellence by fine-tuning and redefining the educational experiences of a technical school.
WHAT TO EXPECT FROM A TWO-YEAR PROGRAM
Dental Office Training by Lynn would never discourage attending a 2-year program if the fit is right for you. DOT simply offers an alternative, hoping to help you achieve your goals quicker. Depending on your goals, a two-year program may be in your best interest. Oftentimes two-year dental assisting programs are held through colleges that require admission fees, purchase of textbooks, and additional “filler” courses to ensure enough credit hours are received. These courses take longer and generally cost more. If you’re wanting the essential material, and a friendly classroom environment DOT may be the perfect dental assistant course for you.
WHAT TO EXPECT AT DOT
The dental assisting/radiology course meets on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays from 9-3 for 12 weeks. We have some classroom lectures typically on Mondays with our clinical days following on Tuesday and Wednesdays. This is an accelerated and intense program because we have much to cover in 12 weeks. The expanded function dental assisting class (EFDA) is offered for those that choose to take an additional 6-day course. It’s our hope that by the end of our 12-week program, and after job observation days in a variety of practicing dental offices, you will be able to decide which field of dentistry would be best for you. We also offer the EFDA class on Friday and Saturdays for offices wanting to enroll their current employees for advanced training. Most importantly expect a fun-filled environment, an experience of a lifetime, and making lifelong friends. DOT does everything in our power to propel your success.
NETWORKING/JOB OPPORTUNITIES
Over the last 13 years, DOT has created a network of over 200 dental offices that allow our students into their offices for observation and job shadowing. We prepare your resume in class so you can start your networking with a variety of offices in the area where you will be looking for employment. This is a great opportunity to demonstrate your ability and personality. Many interviews come from the days that we schedule for you. We provide you with a folder of offices, days, and times for your attendance. This is a very exciting time. At this point, we are just 2 weeks from graduation and it’s possible to have a job opportunity before we even graduate! It’s a great way to meet people in your dental community. There are many different pathways in dentistry. It takes a whole team to make an efficient, profitable practice. You may decide you want to enter a specialty practice and that is definitely an option too! Other opportunities might be front office assistant, marketing, advertising, insurance, and even sales. All of these positions are an integral part of a great office.
