You’ve heard us talk about what it takes to be a successful dental assistant and what skills are necessary to fulfill daily tasks. Our extensive program contains everything you need to be a successful dental assistant.
You Can Further Your Knowledge With Our Expanded Functions Program!
Dental assistants can advance their knowledge and skills by taking an expanded functions course to decrease dependency on others and make more money. By “expanding” your skills, you are eligible to perform different tasks that make your more independent in a dental office. Becoming an expanded assistant requires an extra skill set that includes the ability to: place a temporary crown, restore a tooth with amalgam, and perform composite fillings. The program will require a more complex understanding of anatomy as it relates to dentistry.
At D.O.T. our expanded functions program is a 3 week program on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The hours can be flexible to meet the needs of the group.
Denise McDonald is our expanded functions course director, she’ll instruct most of the course work. Denise has over 40 years of experience in the dental field and thousands of hours in student training. Denise will show you her insight and tricks of the trade to make you the best expanded assistant you can be.
