Taking radiographs (x-rays) -There are multiple types of radiographs, such as anterior and posterior periapical films, bitewings, and panoramic films.
Infection Control-Proper sanitation is essential in any medical practice, and believe it or not, there IS a RIGHT way to wash your hands, change your gloves, and clean an operatory room.
Sterilization and knowledge of various instruments-Knowing what instrument the dentist (or you) will need during a procedure is critical! Many dental instruments look similar, but perform a VERY different task- let us teach you the difference! Sterilization equipment brands can vary from office to office, but they all are required to do the same thing. It is important that you understand which instruments can go into the Ultrasonic or steam sterilizer.
Patient Care- To be a dental assistant you need to be compassionate, knowledgeable, and friendly to your patients.
