Enter A Growing Field With A Minimal Investment!
A 4-year college degree isn’t for everyone, especially young people who aren’t looking to accumulate major debt. The average cost of of attending a public college is more than $28,000 per year, and private colleges on average are more than $59,000, according to a recent Forbes Magazine article. Elite private colleges can cost as much as $68,000 annually.
Fewer young people are actually attaining degrees. The National Center for Higher Education Management Systems reports that only 52% of high school graduates receive a bachelor’s degree within six years. Of the students who graduate, 42% are underemployed and a third are $30,000 in debt — and 17 percent owe up to $50,000. Although national unemployment rates are dropping, unemployment among 20- to 24-year-olds is 13%, according to a Reuters survey.
A large number of high school graduates are finding alternate options to prepare for a career without attaining thousands of dollars in student loans to pay for a traditional 4-year college. As more students are learning that college doesn’t guarantee a bright financial future, many are avoiding taking on excessive debt for both their parents and themselves.
Many top careers in the next decade will require training outside of a traditional 4-year degree. Healthcare, for example, is one of the fastest growing segments of the American economy. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates the addition of 9.8 million new jobs in health-related careers in the next 10 years.
Dental Assistants are one of the fastest growing occupations in the field, with an expected 18% increase in the number of jobs available by 2024.
Although dental assistant training programs are offered by some colleges, people interested in the occupation in Central Indiana have a more convenient and flexible option for training. We offer hands-on, personalized education in a friendly and fun environment.
